The first concept of the team did not come out of a happy situation. Like many other people across the world, a teenager was struggling with mental health issues. While she grappled with living daily with this heavy weight, she realized that she was not alone. Reaching out via video, she discovered that so many people just wanted to be heard, listened to, understood. This spurred a simple action: requesting the student body to wear green to show support and awareness. Little did she know, this would spur a brand new club and touch thousands of people's lives.
The first "team" consisted of individuals who all struggled, who all joined together, and who all decided that no one should go through their experience unheard or unknown. It started with 4 students, 3 teachers, and 3 community members who all cared deeply about promoting mental well-being and educating not only the school, but the public about what mental health is all about.
